  • When we were looking for a school for our children, of course we were interested in the educational programming and activities the children would be a part of, but more important to us was whether or not our children would be cared for and loved and made to feel special and safe. This Goddard has done an amazing job at that. I know that although I cannot be with my children during that time, they are with teachers and staff that genuinely care about them. My kids have relationships with so many of the staff including the director and really feel that Goddard is "their" school. I also love all of the opportunities I have as a mom to be at the school and a part of their day.

I am a mom of 2 baby girls, both come from the Goddard School at 136th in Thornton. We moved to Broomfield to be closer to work so we had to change schools. We loved their first school, Owner Jena Sautter was amazing since day one, we always felt at home there. My oldest daughter 2 1/2, on her first day at THIS Erie Goddard school came back home with a huge bite in the middle of her back (see pictures). If you see these picture ask yourself why can you see all teeth and also good thing she had clothes on otherwise I don't know what this bite would have looked like. Also I wonder where were the teachers during that time? One of the teachers said they left the room with a helper and that is when it ocurred. The report mentioned she did not provoke the bite and I could see all teeth marks. As a parent you can imagine my frustration. My daughter has never bitten anyone or would never provoke something like this, she is very sweet. Her teacher every other day would compliment how sweet my daughter was to her daughter who was in the same classroom, she would hold hands or help others etc. 2 weeks later we pick her up and she had 3 huge scratches on her cheek, one of them very deep and bleeding and today is a scar that is most likely not going away (see picture). We put a good scar cream on her cheek every night with hope it will go away one day. We were very upset and that same day looked at other school options and we thought, if this happens again we are taking them out. Never did we get to chat with the Owner or a get call from the Owner to assure us they would work on trying to avoid these issues. Never would I have imagined that the next day I get an email from the school from Sarah Falardeau. "I wanted to offer my apologies that your experience with our program has not been what you hoped it would be. Over the past 2 weeks, it has become clear that we are not the best program for your family." So, if you are hoping that your child does not get bit or scrached by other children in an aggresive way, or have any concerns with your child not getting hurt you are expecting too much of the school and will most likely be kicked out. I come from 2 years of being in another Goddard and my daughter had many reports of being bitten by another girl and the Owner always worked with us, understood our frustration and explained to us what actions they were taking to avoid these issues and even moved the biter to another classroom to solve the issue. I never felt like I just had to accept that my child could get bitten and I had to deal with it or go to another school. This owner I think lacks the educational background to build a good relationship with the parents and to understand their concerns. I would NOT recomend this school to anyone because of how bad we were treated by the Owner (Sarah Falardeau), who I never met until the day I went to pick up my babies items. This owner never took a chance to get to know us or welcome us to the school, say good morning, nothing. I would understand if its a scratch on the knee from playing at the park or at least if Owner would have taken the time to talk to us, and try to understand how this can be frustrating as a parent and just work through the situation with us and the aggresor. No parent wants to see their kids get hurt, specially for how expensive daycare is. Instead we were pretty much kicked out and for any parent I think this can be so insulting, specially when you are on the receiving end. Also if you are a mom and are looking for daycares you know how long waitlists can be, sometimes a year or two out, this school did not give us any time to even look for another school. We are scheduled to start at Primrose soon and I have many friends that have recommended Primrose at Erie over Goddard School. I would recommend Goddard school in Broomfield or Thornton from other friends and from my own experience but not Goddard school in Erie, specially if this Owner is still there.
